Blue riband dominance for New Zealand and United States in Aiguebelette finals
Picture clear blue waters surrounded by wooded hills and you have a taste of Lake Aiguebelette. This is the setting of World Rowing Cup II in Aiguebelette, France. Over the past three days of racing the best rowers in the world have been enjoying positive racing conditions and warm weather for the initial rounds. Today was the business end of the regatta with World Cup points and medals at stake.
The four blue riband events ended up following a pattern of New Zealand winning both the men's and women's single sculls with the United States taking out the big boat end by winning the men's and women's eight.
