Eve Macfarlane and Zoe McBride continue part four of the five-part mini-series on athletes and mental health. In this part Eve and Zoe discuss how they uphold positive mental health.

Once they had found their way out, both Eve and Zoe discovered strategies that helped them to keep working on their mental health.

“Number one for me is having a goal, big or small. Number two is being ok with feeling any emotion that I ever feel,” says Eve. “And another one would be living the simple life, in tune with the environment.”

Emotions are not fixed, they go up and down. Zoe and Eve both talk about how they learned to acknowledge and accept the emotions they were feeling on any given day. And to find the things that brought them joy.
