FISA's Qualification System for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing has now been approved by the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee and is published. The venues of the Qualification Regattas are still to be decided by the Council.

A majority of the crews for Beijing will qualify at the 2007 World Rowing Championships in Munich, Germany. Again, there will be qualification opportunities in Africa, Asia and Latin America ending with the final qualification regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland in June 2008.

Even though the IOC will send the qualification rules of the various sports to all National Olympic Committees (?NOC?), national federations will need to make their National Olympic Committees fully aware of these rules, and especially of the critical dates for entries and NOC approvals.

Please contact FISA if there is any aspect of the rules that is not entirely clear to you.
