The World Rowing Federation, FISA, wishes to advise international media about the information available for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games Rowing Regatta in Rio de Janeiro (BRA).

The Olympic Games opening ceremony is on 5 August 2016 and the rowing regatta will take place from 6-13 August with 14 August assigned as a reserve day. The media guide is now available here. It includes a background to rowing, entry information with a list of participating athletes, a  ‘Who to Watch’ for all of the boat classes, historical results as well as media contacts and where to find more Olympic rowing information.  

Please note the media guide includes entries prior to the decisions over the participation of Russian rowers in the Rio Olympics. The entries and participating athletes will be updated this week.

The World Rowing website, www.worldrowing.com will be the main channel containing:

World Rowing also posts information on its social media channels. The official Twitter account of World Rowing is @WorldRowing. It will contain regular updates. The official hashtags are: #Rio2016, #GoRow, #OlympicRowing, #Rowing, #Rowinginrio. Athletes and fans are encouraged to tweet messages of support using the official hashtag.

World Rowing will provide updates, photos and short commentary via Facebook @WorldRowing and Instagram @WorldRowingOfficial.
