As in the test race, the Dutch crew of Annika van der Meer and Corné de Koning took off from the start line. These two are reigning world champions in the boat class and recently won at the International Para-Rowing Regatta in Gavirate. They seem to be unstoppable.

Coming through the 500m mark they had an open water lead over their competitors from Ukraine. They continued to race and took more of a lead over Ukraine. Through the finish line, the Dutch double looked strong and long. They took another gold this season, followed by Ukraine.
