Power and pain for finals at Lucerne World Rowing Cup
There is no easy road to winning a final in rowing and the effort exerted was evident at World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland.
In very slight tail wind conditions with just a bit of evidence of a ripple on the water, rowers raced to fast times on the beautiful Rotsee regatta course. New Zealand's pair of Murray and Bond debuted their 2015 season in style with a win that saw them closer to the World Cup Best time than most crews today. Great Britain held off Germany in the men's eight and Great Britain's Heather Stanning and Helen Glover remained unbeaten in the women's pair.
