Murray and Bond finished the 2015 season with 21 wins from major international races including six consecutive World Championship titles. The pair also picked up the World Best Time in the men’s coxed pair in 2014 and have held onto the men’s pair World Best Time after setting it in 2012.

Croatia’s Sinkovic brothers took over spot three and four on the men’s list after a second season of unbeaten racing in the men’s double sculls. Valent and Martin Sinkovic moved into the double in 2014 following the breakup of their World Champion men’s quadruple sculls due to injury of their team mate. The Sinkovic’s found instant success in the double and in 2015 the duo won their races by impressive margins. Valent and Martin Sinkovic move up from their 2014 ranking of sixth and seventh place respectively.

The results of Great Britain’s men’s eight has helped boost some of their crew into the men’s Top 10 list. The men’s eight became World Champions for the first time in 2013 and have maintained this position in 2014 and 2015. Pete Reed, Alex Gregory, George Nash, Mohamed Sbihi and William Satch have all benefited from this winning streak. Gregory, Sbihi and Nash have also represented Great Britain in the 2014 World Champion men’s four.

Helen Glover of Great Britain moved into the number one spot for the Top 10 women after being number two in 2014. Glover has been unbeaten in the women’s pair throughout the 2015 season and has also been on a winning streak that began in 2012. Glover’s 2012 Olympic Champion partner, Heather Stanning took a year off after the London Olympics and came back into the pair in 2014. This helped put Stanning into the number six spot on the list.

The ongoing success of the Unites States women’s eight has ensured a strong showing in the women’s Top 10 list. This year marked the tenth consecutive win for the US women’s eight as World and Olympic Champions and helped put five of the athletes into the women’s Top 10 list. This included Lauren Schmetterling, Amanda Polk, Meghan Musnicki, Victoria Opitz and Heidi Robbins. These rowers were all part of the women’s eight for the last three years apart from Robbins who joined the women’s eight in 2013 for the World Rowing Cup race that earned the team the World Best Time. Robins, however, did not race in the eight at the 2013 World Rowing Championships.

Highest ranking American, Schmetterling sat in four seat of the eight for 2015 and has been a consistent member of the boat since coming into it in 2013. Last year Schmetterling ranked tenth on the Top 10 list.

The Top 10 looks at athlete results for the 2015 season and also looks at how they have done in the previous two years as well as stand out qualities like scoring a World Best Time. For a full explanation of the formula:
