Peter Chambers (b), Great Britain, gold
“That was a really good race for us. We knew there would be lots of pressure from Poland and Czech Republic. At the end, we made sure we kept in our heads and hung on to the finish.”

Milosz Jankowski (s), Poland, silver
“I am very tired. The last 300 metres was very, very fast. I am happy because it’s a new crew. Now we need a lot of training and kilometres. For the future we hope we can win the world championships.”

Jiri Simanek (b), Republic Czech, bronze
“Well, it was raining, but we feel good. We only trained together for 14 days, so during the race, the goal is to stay with the pack. The next goal is the European Championships, it’s our home country, family and friends will be there so we want to achieve the best.”

B-Final

Great Britain’s Zak Lee-Green and Samuel Mottram left the blocks first but with the entire field right on their tails. The field was still tight at the half-way point before Lee-Green and Mottram managed to earn a small margin with Switzerland and Portugal fighting it out for second. The Portuguese then took their rating to 38 and tried to push away. Switzerland matched them and it was a sprint to the line.
