I'm not afraid of anybody...

WR: My sporting hero is… / My biggest idol is…
Enrico d’Aniello: Giuseppe Vicino, the stroke of our JM8+. He is like a brother to me and a really good rower.

WR: I row because…
EA: I like it. I started rowing when I was 9 years old and have been member of the rowing club CN Stabia since then. I have been coxswain of the JM8+ for the last 3 years.

WR: My goal in rowing is….?
EA: Keep going.

WR: I’m most relaxed when…?
EA: I am always relaxed.

WR: My least favourite training session is…
EA: Actually our training sessions are always good. So there are no bad training sessions. Once the boat is running our training sessions are always good fun.

WR: My favourite training session is…
EA: I really like to to cox 1500m training pieces.

WR: My favourite subject is….
EA: I am at a school for ophtalmic optics. It´s alright but I definitely see my future in rowing.

WR: In 10 years time I will…
EA: I’ m not sure. Hopefully I’ll be world champion by then. Maybe in the Italian LM8+.

WR: My toughest race…
EA: The finals in the JM8+ last year at the Junior Championships in Racice were really hard. We had many problems beforehand so we didn’t have the best race. We came third and that was less than we expected. But we are really motivated this year. We won our first heat and are looking forward to the finals here in Eton tomorrow.

WR: I’m motivated by….
EA: My friends in Naples and my team, the JM8+. I have been in the team with a few of the rowers for three years and we are all really close friends. There are three guys from Naples in the JM8+ and we have known each other for a long time and we have the same background.

WR: A typical day….
EA: Normally I get up at 5am and go directly to my rowing club CN Stabia. After the first training session I go to school which starts at 8:15am and ends at 2.30pm. In the afternoon I sometimes have additional rowing sessions. If there are no rowing sessions I go to soccer training. Then I go back home, do my homework and study. Around 9.30pm I have dinner with my family.

WR: I get annoyed when…?
EA: I get really annoyed when the boat doesn’t run.

WR: Scull or sweep?
EA: Sweep. I`m from Naples and there has been a long tradition of sweeping there.

WR: My favourite boat to row is …?

EA: I love steering the 8+.

WR: My favourite food is….?
EA: Pizza.

WR: My favourite tv programme is…?
EA: It is called ‘Show dei record’.

WR: My favourite movie star is…?
EA: Arnold Schwarzenegger. He is great.

WR: My favourite website is…?
EA: The website of the Italian rowing federation: www.canottaggio.org.

 EA: Nobody.
