FISA and WWF partnership brought to light in Bled

It was easy to spot the slogans around the venue of the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Bled, Slovenia; ‘Partners in Clean Water.’ The World Rowing and WWF partnership came to full realisation at this year’s World Rowing Championships.

As well as visible partnership banners around the course, the WWF Water Tour Truck – a mobile exhibition fostering environmental awareness on clean water – visited the Bled regatta venue. The exhibition received steady patronage throughout the event, particularly from the 2,000 visiting school children.

WWF and World Rowing jointly created a leaflet entitled ‘every drop counts’ which was distributed during the regatta and supported by the Slovenian Ministry of the Environment.

The World Rowing Championships was also used as the venue to launch the programme, “active citizenship for clean water” in conjunction with Slovenia’s Eco Schools programme.
