World Rowing's photo contest in conjunction with International Women's Day for 2015 showed the support for women in rowing world-wide. Using the theme of 'We Row, We Sweat, We Strive,' the photos truly demonstrated incredible passion for the sport in a variety of ways.
Six photos were randomly chosen as the 'winners' and we would like to share them with you. Sent in to World Rowing via our Facebook and Twitter channels these photos came from Beatriz Garroux, Brooke Mooney, Bruce Jenkins, Samaakhya Gajanayake, Ed Dobento and Little big rower.
Winners of the 2015 International Women's Day Photo Contest
These winners will receive prizes from World Rowing partners, New Wave and Concept2 and will be contacted individually.
International Women's Day has been observed since the early 1900s. The day celebrates women’s achievements in many areas including economic, social, political and, of course, sport. This year the theme was 'Make it Happen,' and a large number of initiatives world-wide embraced the spirit of the day.
World Rowing would like to thank everyone who sent in photos. The images were so powerful that we will post them on our Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the coming months..
