With 30 national rowing federations present the decision was made to attribute the 2016 European Rowing Championships to Brandenburg, Germany. The Mayor of Brandenburg, Dr Dietlind Tiemann was present for the decision.

The hosting rights for the 2016 European Junior Rowing Championships was attributed to Trakai, Lithuania. Trakai, who hosted the World Rowing Junior Championships in 2013, received 21 votes to be selected over Brest, Belarus with nine votes.

 The assembly delegates also heard updates from the 2015 European Rowing Championship organisers which will be held in Poznan, Poland and the 2015 European Rowing Junior Championship organisers from Racice, Czech Republic.

 Several proposals were made by member federations. The Romanian Rowing Federation proposed a European Under 23 Championship. The Swiss Rowing Federation proposed to stage the bidding process four years in advance of the European Championships.

 The German Federation presented an idea to stimulate club rowing in Europe by staging a Rowing Champions league for men’s and women’s club eights. The national federations were encouraged to create their own sprint regattas that could lead to qualification for an attractive final in Berlin this coming September.

 The assembly will convene again during the World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, the Netherlands at the end of August to further discuss some of the proposals.
