Races will be held in the following boat classes:
– Lightweight: lightweight men's and women's single sculls, lightweight men's and women's double sculls, lightweight men's four.
– Open weight: men's and women's single sculls, men's and women's double sculls, men's four.

The average temperature in Entebbe in March is in the mid-20s (degrees Celsius).

During the championships an assembly to discuss the promotion of rowing in the region will be held for all presidents and secretary generals of national rowing federations.

FISA development manager Sheila Stephens Desbans explains that this regatta is supported by FISA as it is part of FISA's initiative to have stronger regional activity in Africa.
