FISA initiates “No Needles” Policy

In the continued quest to protect the health of athletes and to fight against the use of prohibited substances and methods in sport, the International Rowing Federation, FISA, and the International Cycling Union, UCI, have collaborated closely to create a new “No Needles” Policy – a policy that prohibits using injections without a justified medical reason.
The rowing part of Earth Day

The 41st annual Earth Day saw rowing communities get behind activities around the world. In Bled, Slovenia, the home of the 2011 World Rowing Championships, Earth Day celebrations started with the planting of five trees. This is five of 320 trees that will be planted leading up to the World Rowing Championships. These trees are called Skorz and are an endangered species in Slovenia.
World Water Day

Today is World Water Day and throughout the world people are reflecting on our use of water. As rowers we know the importance. We could not do our sport without it and furthermore we have an acute awareness of the water quality.
