The rowing regatta at the XVI Pan American Games in Guzman, Mexico, has wrapped up with Argentina finishing with the most number of medals. Argentina topped the tally with five golds, two silvers and one bronze, pushing perennial winners, the United States out of the top spot.

Day one of rowing finals at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guzman, Mexico arrived with warm and sunny weather conditions with a slight following wind. At the end of the day, Argentina had proved that they could dominate the medal podium. Argentina finished the day with three outstanding gold medal victories; the women’s pair, men's double sculls and men's four.
