Originally planned for just semifinals and finals, video streaming will now include a limited production live stream for the first four days of the event (24 -27 September) thanks to a ground-breaking cooperation between USRowing, World Rowing, NBC and the Olympic Channel.

“In the spirit of promoting the sport in the United States and around the world, USRowing teamed up with World Rowing, NBC and the Olympic Channel to provide the live streaming in the early days of the event,” says World Rowing’s Executive Director Matt Smith. “In particular, our thanks go to Patrick McNerney, USRowing’s new CEO.”

The production for the first four days will utilise six cameras and show the start and finish of races throughout the fast-paced five-minute interval schedule. English commentary from the spectator-commentary PA will also be provided for all racing.

The full 18-camera production will begin, as originally scheduled, with the A/B semifinals and A-finals from Thursday 28 September to Sunday 1 October.

All live streaming and Video On Demand video clips of each race will be available on www.worldrowing.com. Starting Monday 25 September, for US audiences, it will also be available on the Olympic Channel – Home of Team U.S.A. at www.olympicchannel.com. In addition, the Olympic Channel will live-stream in most countries subject to geo-blocking restrictions.
