MASTERS ROWING

General Description

Each year the World Rowing Masters Regatta attracts several thousand rowers worldwide. The organisation and running of such an event is gigantic, as races take place at three-minute intervals, from dawn until dusk – leaving little time for delay and unforeseen occurrences, but a great atmosphere is guaranteed. In 2010, the World Rowing Masters Regatta will take place in St. Catharines, Canada, from 2 to 5 September.

A rower may compete as a Masters rower from the beginning of the year during which he or she reaches the age of 27.

A Masters rower is placed in the age category corresponding to the age that he or she attains during the current year. The average and minimum ages exclude the coxswain.
