*Additional Junior races at the 2020 WRBSF
The Beach Sprint format of coastal rowing will be included in the programme of the 2022 Youth Olympic Games. In order to provide National Federations with an opportunity to prepare their junior teams for the YOG, FISA announces the inclusion of the above* five junior events at the 2020 WRBSF. The FISA Junior age rule (Rule 29) will apply for athletes competing in these events.
National Federations are reminded that the rules for the coastal discipline require rowers to be responsible for making decisions in relation to their level of skills. Please make sure your teams have suitable experience of operating in waves alongside their rowing competency. Please note that teams are not required to bring boats since pool boats will be provided. However, teams are advised to bring their own oars. FISA’s Rowing for All Commission is happy to advise National Federations who are seeking for good training locations.
