
Tokyo’s Sea Forest Waterway passes test and Germany cleans up at World Rowing Junior Championships
The 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships is doubling as the test event for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The five days of racing concluded today with the juniors racing for medals at the Sea Forest Waterway. Today saw the best rowing conditions of the week with flat water and an ever-so-small cross wind. Temperatures remained in the low 30’s degrees Celsius.
The 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships moved on to semifinal racing at the Tokyo Olympic regatta course. The water was calmer than previous days with a tail wind and a bit of a bounce on the Sea Forest Waterway course on Tokyo Bay. Today's racing was all about finishing in a top three position to be able to get into the finals on Sunday.
It was hot. The pace was fast. The 2019 World Rowing Junior Championships moved on to day two of heats at the Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo, Japan. With a strong tail wind, the boats moved quickly, but they had to deal with rough water and hot, humid conditions.

At the brand new Sea Forest Waterway in Tokyo, Japan, these rowers took to the salt-water, harbour regatta course facing tail-cross wind conditions. The water was very bouncy and required full concentration by the athletes.
