Adrenalin-pumping finals at junior championships

Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon in Rio, Brazil is a place that will become more and more well-known as the Rio 2016 Olympic Games come into view. Today the lagoon saw the finals of the 2015 World Rowing Junior Championships with juniors giving it their all to go after the coveted medals.

Weather conditions played ball for the athletes with a slight tail wind under sunny skies with the iconic Christ the Redeemer looking down on the start line peace before the pressure.

Racing with heart for junior championships semifinals

The revised schedule at the 2015 World Rowing Junior Championships meant that today's racing consisted of semifinals and thus the last chance for crews to qualify for tomorrow's final and the best juniors in the world raced with urgency and heart to get to the line in a top three position.

In Rio, Brazil this junior championships that also acted as a test event for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, turned on warm weather, sunny skies and a small tail wind that meant the finishing times were rather quick.
