About Nanjing
Nanjing is one of China's most important commercial, cultural, and industrial centers. The city has a history spanning nearly 2,500 years, and in recent years has seen rapid development. Nanjing is the capital of Jiangsu province. The city’s name means “Southern Capital” and is located in the lower Yangtze River Delta. About the rowing course
The Xuanwu Lake is located in the north-eastern part of the city about 22km away from the Youth Olympic Village. The race course is 2200m long and 162m wide. The venue was used for the rowing and canoeing competitions during the 10th National Games of China in 2005.
