  • About Zurich

Zurich is Switzerland's largest city and is one of the world's leading financial centres. According to various surveys, Zurich has been ranked as the city with the best quality of life in the world and the wealthiest in Europe. The founding of the city by the Romans can be traced back to 15 BC.

Its orchestras, theatres, museums and art galleries make Zurich a lively cultural city.

Located at the north end of Lake Zurich, which is 40km long and up to 3km wide, the city is crossed by the Limmat River, which flows out of the lake.
