About Montemor-o-Velho
Montemor-o-Velho is a town that overlooks the banks of the Mondego River. It is situated in the district of Coimbra. The Mondego river landscape dominates the region with fertile plains where rice paddies stretch out to the horizon.

Venue Information
The Centro de Alto Rendimento course in Montemor-o-Velho is manmade, using water from Mondego River which runs in a fertile valley once occupied by rice fields. It is the only international 2km rowing course in Portugal and it the hub of Portugese rowing. In 2001 they hosted the European junior event, Coupe de la Jeunesse.
