Bids Awarded

At the 2011 FISA Annual Ordinary Congress held in Bled, Slovenia on 5 September, the following events were attributed by the Congress:

  • The 2015 World Rowing Championships to Aiguebelette, France
  • The 2014 World Rowing Under 23 Championships to Varese, Italy
  • The 2014 World Rowing Masters Regatta to Ballarat, Australia

In addition, the FISA Council announced that the first stage of the 2013 and 2014 World Rowing Cup series will take place in Sydney, Australia.

The Council also announced that the FISA Extraordinary Congress in 2013 will be hosted by Copenhagen, Denmark.

Events open for bidding

On 1 October, FISA will launch the bid process for the following World

Rowing events:

  • 2016 World Rowing Senior and Junior Championships
  • 2015 World Rowing Under 23 Championships
  • 2015 World Rowing Masters Regatta
  • 2014 European Rowing Championships
  • 2014 European Rowing Junior Championships
  • 2013 World Rowing Coastal Championships for Clubs

Any national federations interested in bidding to host one or more of the above events are hereby requested to declare their intention to bid in writing to Matt Smith at FISA, to be received no later than 30 September 2011.

The bid questionnaire and related documents will be sent to these federations by 1 October.
