EVENT INFORMATION

2018 Around the Island Race (ATIR):

This race is organised by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, whereby crews start and finish at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Causeway Bay on the north side of Hong Kong Island. The race takes place over 45 km through a range of environments from wild coastline around Cape Daguilar, past the beautiful sandy beaches of Repulse Bay and Deepwater Bay, around the traditional fishing port of Aberdeen with its still busy harbour and eventually back into Victoria Harbour. Co-organisers of the race include the Hong Kong, China Rowing Association and is supported by the Hong Kong Water Sports Council.

Men’s: 2x full course, 4x+ full course, 2x change course

Women’s: 2x full course, 4x+ full course, 2x change course

Mixed: 2x full course, 4x+ full course, 2x change course

 

2018 ATIR Global Erg Challenge:

This events includes a new combined event of onshore and offshore rowing that is organised by Ocean Recovery Alliance, an NGO focused on ocean protection, in partnership with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, and KinoMap. From anywhere in the world, you can now take part in this onshore global event, allowing you to experience the 45 km race virtually. Using the KinoMap every entered team’s avatar will be placed on the map to “race them” around the island in their respective categories, so that everyone can see how they finish against others.
