This race programme is based on detailed weather forecasts which are for wind to reduce during Tuesday. Group A and B equal a total of 22 races and include all repechages that will lead on to semi-finals.

The forecast for Wednesday is good and this means the race programme for Wednesday 18 August 2004:

8 remaining repechages

Announced by Events Commission Chairperson for FISA, Mike Sweeney, at the daily team managers meeting Sweeney told those assembled, "we will take this one step at a time."

A review meeting at 13.00 EEST on Tuesday will announce one of three decisions:
1. It is okay to race and all 22 races will go ahead.
2. The wind is not reducing fast enough and racing will be postponed until 15.30 and just Group A will race.
3. There will be no racing on Tuesday.

"In every race crews must do their best possible performance in terms of place and time," said Sweeney. "This is because in some scenarios (for future races) time will make a difference."
